Culture Shed, or the Shed as it is known as now, is part of the new Hudson Yards redevelopment project. This 200,000 square foot, 6 story building will host a multitude of cultural events for art, performance, design food and fashion when it is completed in 2019.  It features a retractable roof, which can retract in as little as 15 minutes, to convert the performance space into an open air theater.  This feature, among other acoustic and theatrical features, were substantial challenges to ABCO Peerless during the design assist, 3D modeling, coordination and logistics required for the construction of this project.  When completed, the Shed will be one of the most dynamic event spaces in the world.
