LEADERSHIP

William G. Bowe, Founder

William G. Bowe founded the ABCO Automatic Sprinkler Company in 1958 with his father in law, Anthony Robillotta, while working as a sprinkler fitter after returning from his service in the Korean War. A graduate of Manhattan College’s School of Business in 1951, Bill saw an opportunity to be a part of a growing market and closed ABCO’s first contract on his 30th birthday. Over the next 30 plus years of his career, Bill led ABCO Automatic through a series of changes, the largest being the acquisition of Peerless Automatic Sprinkler and Modern Sprinkler to form the ABCO Peerless Sprinkler Corporation in 1972.  Bill served as a steward to the fire sprinkler industry for many years, starting the New York Sprinkler Contractors Association, serving as the President of the Mechanical Contractors Association of New York and holding various positions in the National Fire Sprinkler Association, where he was inducted into the Fire Sprinkler Hall of Fame in 2008. Bill earned the 3rd license issued to Master Fire Suppression Piping Contractors in the City of New York in the early 1990s and held many other such licenses in the greater New York Metropolitan area.

Timothy W. Bowe, President and CEO

Timothy W. Bowe, Bill’s son, spent many of his teenage years working in the business as a shop hand and sprinkler designer in training before heading off to Manhattan College to study in the School of Engineering. In 1980, Tim graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering and worked in the consulting engineering industry for several years before returning to ABCO Peerless. In 1995, Tim was made President of the company, leading it through yet more changes, including the founding of ABCO Peerless Fire Suppression, the company’s relocation to its current headquarters in Hicksville, NY and the founding of New York Fabrication and Supply.  Tim’s dedication to the industry has been undeniable, serving as the president of the New York Fire Sprinkler Contractors Association, the Society of Fire Protection Engineers, the Mechanical Contractors Association and the vice chairman of the Engineering and Standards Committee of the National Fire Sprinkler Association. He was named a fellow of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers in 2008 and an Honorary Battalion Chief in the Fire Department of New York in 2004.  Tim has been a part of most of the influential legislation regarding the installation of fire protection systems in the Greater New York Metropolitan area since Local Law 5 was put into action. He currently sits on the Fire Protection Code Committee for the City of New York and was also named to the New York City Buildings Resiliency Task Force.  Tim is a registered Professional Engineer in the states of New York, Connecticut and New Jersey and holds a Master Fire Suppression Piping Contractors License in the City of New York and similar licenses in various other jurisdictions.

Joanne Saunders, Vice President of Finance

Joanne Saunders, a 31 year veteran of ABCO Peerless, after working for Hewlett Packard and Hilton Hotels and graduating from Hofstra University.  She progressively worked her “way up” after being hired by William G. Bowe to handle job cost and collections, and eventually reorganized Modern Sprinkler before returning to ABCO as Controller in 1994.  She is currently Vice President of Finance and is responsible for the finances as well as the administrative operations of several companies under the ABCO Peerless Sprinkler’s umbrella.

Christopher Cronauer, Vice President of Construction

Christopher Cronauer started at ABCO Peerless in July 1986, working in the shop before being assigned to the field as a mechanic. Chris was later promoted to Field Superintendent and eventually to Project Manager. In 2014, Chris was promoted to the Vice President of Construction, where he has been responsible for all construction activities at ABCO.  It has been and continues to be hugely satisfying to Chris to plan, supervise and complete a tremendous amount of life safety work in the installation and maintenance of fire protection systems in the metropolitan New York City area.

John Nimphius, Vice President of Sales

John began his career at ABCO in 1994 directly out of college as a plan clerk/assistant to the Building Department Coordinator. From there, he moved quickly up the ladder to engineering where many years in design and installation earned him NICET Level IV certification.  In 1998 he was brought into the sales department and has remained there since; he received his Master Fire Suppression License in New York City in 2011.  In 2014, John was promoted to Vice President of Sales, where he has ushered in many technology changes to keep pace with the changing face of construction.

Paul F. Sepe, Vice President of Engineering

Paul F. Sepe came to ABCO Peerless in 1991 after working in several other technical roles outside the industry. Hired as a sprinkler designer, Paul quickly became one of ABCO’s most valuable engineers as he continued his pursuit of knowledge and expertise in fire protection design. In 1998, Paul was named Engineering Manager and shortly thereafter earned his NICET IV Certification in Automatic Sprinkler Systems Layout.  Paul spent many of his years as Engineering Manager guiding the company through technology changes in the fire sprinkler industry, helping the organization move from paper drafting to computer based drafting, computer based calculations and automated material pre-fabrication.  In 2013, Paul was promoted to Vice President of Engineering, where he continues to serve in that role today. Paul holds a Master Fire Suppression Piping Contractors License in the City of New York as well as other similar licenses in various other jurisdictions.

Patrick R. Bowe, Vice President

Patrick R. Bowe, Tim’s son, and Timothy W. Bowe II, comprise the 4th generation of the Bowe family at the ABCO Peerless Sprinkler Corporation.  Like Tim, Patrick spent summers and winters working in the business as a shop hand while he attended high school and college. In 2007, Patrick graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a degree in Civil Engineering and worked in the consulting engineering industry for several years before joining ABCO Peerless full time in 2009. Patrick worked as a fire sprinkler designer for much of his tenure at ABCO and was promoted to Engineering Manager in early 2014. In early 2017, Patrick was promoted to Vice President and currently oversees several of the operations within ABCO Peerless. Patrick serves as a member of the Next Generation Committee of the Mechanical Contractors Association and a member of the Future Leadership Committee of the National Fire Sprinkler Association. He also sits on the Fire Protection Code Committee for the City of New York and several committees for the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies. Patrick is a registered Professional Engineer in the states of New York and Connecticut and holds a Master Fire Suppression Contractors Piping License in the City of New York as well as other similar licenses in various other jurisdictions.

Timothy W. Bowe II, Engineering Manager

Timothy W. Bowe II is the Engineering Manager for ABCO Peerless.  Like his brother, Tim began his career at ABCO Peerless throughout his high school and college summers pulling material orders in the shop.  He joined the company full time in 2013 after several years working for a reputable general contractor and now oversees the engineering on many of the company’s highest profile projects.  His work includes build-outs of Google, White & Case, Macy’s, and Time Warner.  Throughout his career, Tim has made major advances to fine tune the efficiency of ABCO’s operation through working with manufacturers, in house fabrication, and field personnel to deliver and install material to each of ABCO’s many projects.

Phillip A. Ottaviano, Executive Vice President of New York Fabrication and Supply

Phillip A. Ottaviano spent much of his 30 plus years in the fire protection industry working at fabrication and supply houses in the Greater New York Metropolitan area. In 2011, Phil joined the ABCO Peerless family of companies when New York Fabrication and Supply was established.  With long standing knowledge of ABCO Peerless’ operations and its suppliers, Phil helped lead the organization’s transition into producing its own pre-fabricated material, setting up the company’s in house pipe fabrication facility. Today, Phil oversees all of the organizations purchasing, pipe fabrication and material handling operations.
